0-9652358-0-7. This is a detailed tour of old US 80 from Phoenix to San Diego, with
historical photographs and details of the original route and
remaining segments.
- Arizona Place Names, by Will C. Barnes,
University of Arizona Press 1988, ISBN 0-8165-1074-1. This
reprint of Barnes' 1935 book is still the definitive word on
how Arizona got names like Mistake Peak or Wrong Mountain.

is a real treat for road geeks. Although US 66 is the main focus, this
